My Review

This is the 3rd in the series and the first book I read by Linda Ellen and I absolutely loved the book. I am going have to read the first two in the series since I enjoyed this one so much. They don't have to be read in order. I got so involved with the characters. Even though I really loved Gary and Julie, the character that stood out to me more was Gary's father. Gary was his only son and he had lost his wife. Gary and his father has a lot to work out. I received an advanced copy of the book, definitely recommend it.

My heart belongs on Mackinac Island I really enjoyed Maude, loved her strong character. Her family owns a hotel and she wants to run it but her father objects. She does her best to prove that she is a hard worker. She goes to work at the other hotel where she meets Ben that is a undercover journalist. Also enjoyed Maude brother Jack. I could tell the author put a lot of work in the book. A lot of characters and they were all brought to life. Enjoyed the book from start to end. I definitely recommend this book.

His Guilt

Mu Review

Mark comes back to town after being gone for a while. Years ago accused of something he did not do. He is working with Waneta at the plant shop. Will they be able to work together? Mark is really trying to start new there and then his brother shows up and attacks start happening again. This really a suspenseful book. I did not figure who it was until the end. My favorite characters was Waneta's parents, they were so encouraging. This is the 2nd in the series and I did read the first book but this is not a continuation of the first book so the series can be read in any order, they are stand alone. They are just all set in the same town. I received an advanced copy of the book from the publisher. Definitely recommend this book.

Her Secret Hannah and her family moves after a guy started stalking her and she meets Issac there. I just loved Issac, he was very special guy. I kept wandering who had the secret and it was kind of a surprise. A very good suspense book. A lot of other characters in the book including her parents and siblings. A am hoping to hear more of them in the next book, which I look forward reading.

My Review

Two sisters received an letter from their aunt to come for a visit to see where their mother grew up. It is Amish country but their aunt Silvia is not Amish. Angela is married but not happy with her marriage, Rose is single. Their mother recently passed. Angela and Rose definitely has a lot to work out as sisters. They meet Glen, one of the neighbors. I really liked his character, so patient and kind. While staying there they discover a lot from the past. Kept me guessing on how the book was going to turn out. The author did a good job of bringing the characters to life. This was my first book by Kate Lloyd, definitely plan to read more.

My Review

Wow, I really got into this book. Love the mystery and suspense of it, love the characters and especially the dogs. Shannon is a police officer that does a rescue with her dog Darwin. Sawyer has a young son that is taken from him but they have no idea who kidnapped him. His wife had been missing and given up for dead, does it have anything to do with her? You will just have to read and see, it is quite a story. I just love how Kate James knows how to tell a great story, brings the characters to life and really love books with dogs and children in them. This is great series that each book is a stand alone, I have read one other one that is in the series and loved it too. Definitely have the other two on list to read.

Go West

My Review of Go West

Ellie comes to a ranch in Colorado to work and meets Aldon. Ellie was asked some things to do that she was not comfortable doing but she went out of her comfort zone, one thing she was asked to was teach Sunday School for the young ones. I really got attached to the characters and I could imagine the characters and the ranch so clear in my mind. I love the little pictures before each chapter, very unique. I am really hoping for it to be a series, just a hint to the author. I loved when Molly made rhubarb pie the first morning after Ellie arrived, that is something that you don't hear a lot about in books. Even though there was a lot of employer/employees relationships they all seem like family. The only thing I didn't like about was having to leave the characters behind. I don't want to give away any more of the story line but I definitely recommend this book.

After duty as an ambulance driver in World War I, Ellie Morgan returns to Chicago to take up her share of the work in her grandparents’ department store. Ellie doesn’t want to alienate her family or disappoint them, but despite a six year effort to settle in, she feels increasingly trapped in store routine. Meanwhile, her grandmother urges her to marry a local politician and help him succeed in his chosen field. About the Author

DiVoran has been writing for most of her life. Her first attempt at a story was when she was seven years old and her mother got a new typewriter. DiVoran got to use it and when her dad saw her writing he asked what she was writing about. DiVoran answered that she was writing the story of her life. Her dad’s only comment was, “Well, it’s going to be a very short story.” After most of a lifetime of writing and helping other writers, DiVoran finally launched her own dream which was to write a novel of her own. She now has her Florida Springs trilogy and her novel, a Christian Western Romance, Go West available on Amazon. When speaking about her road to publication, she gives thanks to the Lord for all the people who helped her grow and learn. Excerpts

1. At the Train Station

She looked up into the eyes of a tall man with silver-blond hair. He held her carpetbag in one hand and a deep brown Boss of the Prairie Stetson in the other. She didn’t know yet who he was, but she knew from working in her grandparent’s department store back home, that he had good taste in hats. His frayed khaki shirt, however, looked as if it were part of a uniform from the Great War.

2. At Church

How do you do? Ellie said the words she’d been taught to say when she met someone. The ladies nodded without smiling, and suddenly Ellie knew she was being judged. Oh, Lord, she thought, they’ll be gossiping about me the minute I leave the church.

3. The Cattle Push

Three days later, before sunrise, Aldon arranged himself on the seat of the chuck wagon with Ellie beside him. He was glad to have the use of Dieter’s mules, as he slapped the reins lightly along their backs. Mules were good value. Maybe they weren’t as pretty as horses, but they were stronger. They also had better horse sense and enough self-respect not to allow folks to ride them to death.

4. Trip to Denver

Aldon took Enrico from the policeman and Ellie put her hand under the young man’s elbow to help support him. Lia followed them to the Packard Six, and Aldon stuffed Enrico into the back seat. He shoved him over and got in.

“You’ll have to drive,” Aldon told Ellie. “I’m still woozy from that punch. We leave the for the valley at six o’clock in the morning.”

5. The Sheriff’s Wife

Ellie heard the upstairs window slide open. Cathy barely had to raise her voice to be heard. “Take the stick and fish the diapers out of that big galvanized tub where they’re soaking and throw them in the pot hanging from the tripod. I already put in the soap flakes. Stir them around then take them back out so you can rise them in that other tub. That’s cold water, so you can wring them out before you hang them on the line.

By the time Ellie finished the difficult chore she almost wished she hadn’t offered to help. She sat down on a rock and rested her back against the rough bark of a tree. When she woke she was being gently
